28. DANUBE CARNIVAL GALA
Friday 16 June 2023 20:00 (rain day: none)
INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL FESTIVAL
I. WORLD CARNIVAL
In the first part of the evening, the foreign dance and music ensembles invited to the carnival, from Georgia to the USA, will present themselves.
II. DANCE HYMN - Home comes to light
In the second act, we can see a performance in artistic collaboration entitled Dance Anthem, with which we pay tribute to the National Anthem, on the occasion of the two hundredth anniversary of its birth.
Our national prayer speaks from the depths of the hearts of all Hungarians. The brave, free association of the ideas formulated by Kölcsey is formulated by the creators in dance and music. The dance concert highlights significant historical events of the Hungarian people, commemorating stormy periods, our freedom struggles, and our glorious past.
Renowned Hungarian dance ensembles join the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble and the Danube Art Ensemble. Sometimes the soloistic formulation, other times the scenes composed for the dance community, the overwhelmingly energetic performance of about a hundred dancers enchants the viewer.

The festival program on Margaret island is rich and diverse: concerts, musicals, dance shows, theatrical performances for children and adults, comedies at three venues:
- Open-Air Theater in Városmajor (Buda) – venue for many children programs
- the Open-Air Theater on Margaret Island (trams 4 and 6, Margitsziget stop) and
